Grosvenor Shopping Centre – Manual & Fully Auto Swings

After being awarded the tender contract on the basis of our quality products and excellent history in installations, we were asked by PSK Legal & General to complete works at the Grosvenor Shopping Centre, Northampton

The brief was to replace the existing brown tinted glass doors and brass trims and handles to the 2 main entrances. These doors were installed when the centre was originally built so they needed some modernisation . However, the client did not want to dramatically change the look of the entrance. So, in order to meet the client’s needs, we replaced the doors with a similar spec but to a higher standard- supplying and installing swing doors with clear toughened glass and aluminum trimming. The archway above the entrance also had to be prefabricated in aluminum.

To meet DDA Regulations (Disability Discrimination Act) a number of doors needed to automatic. Fully Automatic Single Swing Operators were installed on the far side doors of each entrance. This allows for easy entry for any shopper whilst remaining aesthetically pleasing.

All doors, both manual and automatic, were also integrated into the fire and smoke ventilation system. So that in case of a fire, all doors will automatically open fully.
